No shoes, no shirt, no service
Easter Sunday for the most part was spent relaxing by the beach. Read a book, take a nap, snorkel, take a nap, paddleboard, take a nap, kayak and take a nap. A little Italian dinner at night and everyone was off to bed. A simple and easy way to spend Sunday.

Fins to the left of me fins on the right
Saturday started with a leisurely breakfast at Coconut Joes. After eating our full of chocolate chip pancakes, the crew head to the beach and look for a little light recreating. I took a walk into Georgetown to see the sights. Old cemeteries and churches near the beach were beautiful. Downtown had the usual duty free and tourist spots you expect at a destination like the Caymans.
At noon, we boarded a bus for Dolphin Discovery. Everyone danced, kissed and swam with the Dolphins. The girls had and epic time and smile as big as their faces. The parents had a good time too, until the pricing for the photos was presented to us.π’ Memories apparently are super expensive in the British Teritorries.π΄π΅π₯π₯.
Once back at the hotel, everyone rested up. At 5:30 the kids and Elle had pizza and the adults left for dinner at Luca. A great dinner with wine, fabulous food and no interruptions!!! We stopped at a bar on the way back to see Wisconsin take down Kentucky. This sets up an epic battle for the family pool, badgers win
Ashley wins, blue devils win Sophie wins.
This could get seriousππ

When I told Kari I want a Stingray, I didn't mean this
Good Friday was good. The clan enjoyed breakfast at our new hangout Coconut Joes. After devouring breakfast and avoiding traffic we headed out on the high seas.
Our first stop was Stingray City. This is a sand bar 15 minutes from the island. 3-5 feet of water and 20+ South Atlantic Stingrays. We had some anxiety and some tears, but eventually everyone got in the water. Everyone held a Stingray and almost everyone got a kiss. Grace did not like the waves but in the end she like the Stingrays. Captain Shaun dropped a ton of local knowledge on us. Stingray city brings in 30 million dollars a year to Cayman. It started because the fisherman didn't want to deal with Mosquitos while cleaning their fish, so they cleaned them on the sandbar and the remants attracted and eventually tamed the stingrays.
A 5 minute boat ride dropped us over a great snorkel spot. Captain Shaun let the girls feed the fish some calamari. He did a great job pointing out the different fish and tried to draw a huge Morrey Eel out from its hiding spot. I am not sure the pictures will do it justice.
Our last stop was Starfish beach. Grace was crowned queen of Starfish beach and Abby was the Princess. Everyone had As Captain Shaun shares the history of the north point of the island. Back at the hotel by 2, happy, tired and sunned burned.
We finished with a walk on the beach, the capture of a ghost crab and a little pirating.

This vacation is like going to hell and back
Yesterday, started out slow a little walking on the beach, a little reading of book and some smoothies. The girls swam in the pool and chilled. Katie got a GoPro from the resort that we use to take some snorkeling video and photos with.
In the afternoon we went on a Cayman Safari!! The crew was loaded into 2 open air jeeps. We toured the North End of Cayman. A stop at the national park, lead to a great photo op and we watched some kiteboarding, now officially added to my bucket list.
We arrived in Hell, Cayman Islands. Postcards were purchased and sent, Troy supervised the stamping and postmarking. It is called Hell, because of the unusual rock formations around this location. Some of us got very friendly with a green iguana.
Tortuga Rum company offered free cake for the girls but not free rum drinks for the boysπ’.
Last stop was the turtle farm. The island raises turtles and releases many back into the wild. They also raise some for dinner. The girls had a great time as you can see from the pictures

The old men and the sea. The kid and the fish.
After dominating trivia night at the Lone Star Restaurant. The Anseths and Butners took to the sea. After a morning walk/run, more walk than run, we hit the beach. We snorkeled in front of the resort. Lots of fish, lots of fun. In the afternoon Elle, Troy, Katie and Scott went fishing on the reef. For quite awhile it looked like the only thing we would catch were rays and maybe a sunburn. Finally we were able to get into a few snappers. When I say we, I mostly mean Katie. We all caught at least one fish but Katie hauled in the most and the biggest. She also talked the deckhand into diving in and bringing her a conche. An awesome Italian Dinner and now bed. If you didn't fish I think you went shopping, or enjoyed a drink.
