4th of July
The girls and I were up early on Saturday to catch a bus to Whistler. Tim Horton's donuts and a Starbucks and the girls were ready to go.
Our first stop was Shannon Falls about 40 minutes outside of Vancouver. It was a beautiful high waterfall. The girls enjoyed playing and running around. We did not enjoy the idiot that got lost and kept us there for an hour waiting around the bus.
We finally made it to Whistler. We had just enough time for some lunch and then it was off to zip line over the Fitzsimmons creek. Great views and great fun.
We took a gondola ride to the top. The scenery was amazing. There were 100s of mountain bikers blasting down the mountain. We even saw a couple of black bears looking for lunch under the gondola, mostly for grubs and herbs versus bikers. Here is a shot from the top of our champions.
On the way back we stopped at Brandywine falls. Great views.
The suspense is killing me.....
The Anseth family got up bright and early to visit the rainforest the cover the Pacific Northwest, but we first stopped for Canada's delicious donuts. Tim Hortons rocks!!!!!
Dinner was amazing at the Blue Waters Cafe. Oysters, sushi rolls, pan seared halibut and great local beers
The Capilano Suspension Bridge awaited us. 230 ft above the canyon floor the Anaeth family swayed gentle back and forth as we crossed over into the rainforest. We learned about Hemlock trees, Douglas firs and Red Cedars. It was a great day walking through the woods.
Even dad got into the act
Katie and I went down to Canada Place to watch Fox Sports 1. As usually the soccer experts spent some time hanging

Oh Canada......
We departed the Twin Cities at 9:30 and arrive in Vancouver, BC at 11:30 ready to take on a little Canada action.
More adventures tomorrow
After a quick lunch, we did a land tour around Vancouver. The first stop was Queen Elizabeth Park. We were greeted with beautiful skyline views and a sunken garden.
We left there and travelled over to Grandville Island. There were lots of great little shops, outdoor performers and food. We only spent about 40 min there and plan to head back later in the vacation, if time permits.
Then it was over to Stanley Park. We experience some 1st Nation totem poles. There were beautiful views of the city and Lions Gate Bridge.
We finished the night down by Canada Place as we enjoyed a little dinner and some locally brewed beer. We even watched a little Fox Sports1.
