Our Uber driver was an interesting dude. He was an author who drives for Uber occasionally. I asked what he has written and he told me he as written a book about his experience in Vietnam. He reported that he had several near death experiences which lead him to more questions than answers. He began reading the Bible and when on to write a book on the history of the Bible. His studies lead him to read the Greek and Hebrew version in an attempt to get as close to the message the Holy Spirit was sending. He felt it was important to read the Koran so he found a copy from the 1950s. A fascinating discussion about a man looking for answers. Then he informed me that he thinks there will be a holy war between the Christians and the Muslim which is fore told in the sections of the Bible discussing the Rapture, so that is a thing. I didn’t quite know where to go from there, shortly after that we were at Terminal 2 on ready to keep moving on.
The plane flight on Suncountry was awesome and strange. The flight wasn’t very full so we spread out over several rows and relaxed. Ashley and Katie just chilled while the lady in front of them continued to look annoyed and bothered. We had a lady forget her cell phone in the restaurant at Terminal 2 and freak out mildly. Luckily the flight attendant was cool and let her call her cell phone at the restaurant on his cell. Luckily someone answered and ran it down to her before we departed.
Finally in San Francisco we cabbed it to the Palace. The girls thought our cab driver was going to get us killed a couple of times but he didn’t.
Finally we checked in at The Palace Hotel. A beautiful place on the corner of Montgomery and Market. Sometimes we use the alisas Ansteth which make it hard for the paparazzi to find us but it also makes it hard for the girls to activate the free WiFi.
We only had time for dinner so we walked from the hotel to the Tadich Grill. Classic San Francisco, old school Wayne’s coating on the walls little booths which barely hold a party of 5, long bar, the wait staff was primarily old guys in white coats.
Dinner consisted of sourdough bread, garlic bread, ravioli for the girls, Kari had a salad and I destroyed a San Francisco classic, seafood cioppino which was fantastic. The beers didn’t hurt either.
Obligatory airport photo
