At 10 AM, we did a behind the scenes tour of the Celebrity Eclipse. Imagine trying to take this gong show of 17 people around your cruise ship. Tiffany our guide did a great job. Jake from security followed me a little too closely. Most of the tour I was think “Is this guy gonna tase me the first chance he gets?”
First stop was the engineering center. The technology to run the ship was amazing as was the organization. The aft motors can reach independently rotate 180 degrees to enhance the maneuverability of the boat at sea and when docking.
The Butseth team has been granted inside access.
In the engineering room. The heart is the Celebrity Eclipse.
From the engine room, we went to the bridge. It entrance is not ornately marked but once inside it is quite amazing. 1 sailor and 2 officers were working. We had pretty smooth sailing at the time of our visit so we were able to ask a lot of questions until Jake from security ushered us along our way.
On the bridge of the ship. This is a table with items the boats christening.
The command panel over the wing.
Butners in the bridge.
Navigation map from the bridge. I think it is showing ocean currents and directions.
From the bridge we went to laundry. It was quite there when we visited but we saw who the clean press and fold about 8000 towels, and washcloths efficiently during our cruise. Technology has really decrease the man power need to do some of these jobs.
This is the industrial wash brought to you by Minnesota’s one EcoLab
Down the staff corridor the work place reminder board provides a little humor.
We toured kitchen house keeping which contained a mind boggling amount of stuff even at the end of the cruise.
Wine 🍷 anyone?
1/2 a shelf of Dom Perringon champagne.
How the boat buys it’s sugar.
This lady is killing the cheese game. Last time we walked through the kitchen she was cutting up Feta cheese. Today she is dicing Cheddar.
That huge pile of dough in front of those to dudes is chocolate chip cookie dough. Hopefully you can enlarge the picture a little bit to see it.
A rake of breadsticks. This is almost enough to keep Casey Butner satisfied.
The wine tower.
After our tour our crew split up some went to lunch or the spa. It was reasonably nice out so you could spend a little time on deck catching some rays.
Grace, Abby, Sadie dancing on deck with Alejandro.
The crew thanking the guest for a wonderful cruise.
We enjoyed a relaxing dinner our last on the boat and then it was time for one final show. The rock show had hit from. AC/DC, Queen and many more.
Alejandro sitting by the girls loves the Rock Show.
Acrobats in The Rock Show.
After the show it was time to pack and get ready to leave the boat. Tomorrow we will explore the coast of Chile 🇨🇱 at least a little bit. Celebrity Cruise did a great job hosting us, entertaining us and feeding us. Tomorrow we start the journey back home to Eden Prairie.
