Team shopping: Lara, Kari, Sophie and Ashley.
Team fishing: TB, Scott, Elle, Katie, Abby and G
The boat only carried 6 so this generally worked out pretty well. Team fishing headed to Madaket and left Madaket Harbor in our ship. Out through the harbor and towards Martha's Vineyard. 40 minutes of cruising and we found our spot. The ocean was quite surprising here. There are sandbars and when the water flows around and it is very rough but if you are over the sandbar it is quite calm. This is where the bluefish like to hangout.
First cast, BAM, blue fish on. That one didn't make it to the boat but more soon followed and the first 45 minutes out there we where hitting the fish pretty hard.
Dads rule.
G Money reeling it in
Elle and her blue fish
Abby, let's get some fish in this boat
We do rule. At least momentarily.
Shortly after this picture, the chop, a couple of sharp circles from the boat and the bottles of wine from last night came together in a horrible way. I stopped talking, turned green and then deposited everything I had in my stomach right into the Atlantic Ocean. I have a tendency to get a little nauseous but it has been a long time since this has happened. TB was really the only witness the girls were all focused on fishing.
Capt. Nat and Kevin worried about us and me for a little bit but after some water and a little calmer spot we were back on the fish. Hallelujah.
Grace and 🍅 (Kevin)
Katie of course had the catch of the day...Sea Bass
Capt. Nat was going to take it home for dinner tonight.
We returned to port around 5 and where at 2 Lilly by 5:20. Everybody cleaned up and prepared for dinner.
Meanwhile in Nantucket, Ashley, Sophie, Lara and Kari did some shopping and walked around downtown. It didn't seem like too much damage was done. Although, Vineyard Vines appears to be holding a significant amount of items for our crew.
We kept dinner simple and returned to the Brotherhood of Thieves. The food was pretty good and the company was better.
Someone booby trapped Abby's ketchup with paste so when she squeezed it, the tomato paste explode all over her. True to form a significant amount of laughter ensued.
This little person was done having any more adventures for today and to be honest so was her dad.
