Blew out my flip flop, cut my toe, had to...

Thursday, March 28th,  2019 started slowly and with a relaxed vibe.  The day was designed to be a relaxation day with no dad planned excursions.  A lot of time on the beach and a lot of time by the pool.

Kari and I did yoga by the beach at 10 AM.  I am pretty sure our yoga instructor thought I was going to faint during Warrior 2 or something like that.

Breakfast consisted of French toast with a honey syrup and crispy bacon.  The girls all got something called a smoothie bowl.  Kari chose a fruit plate.  I am traveling with savages. After breakfast it was walks on the beach and time in th pool.

At 3:30 I signed up for rock fishing.  No this is supposedly traditional Panamanian rock fishing.  Imagine a 1 1/2” round wooden stick about 5” long.  You cut a little groove in it and then just wrap the fishing line around the stick.  Eventually you put a hook and a sinker weight on the end.  Now put some shrimp on the hook swing the line underhand and toss it into the ocean.  If you do it right the line unspools easily.  If you do it wrong it falls at your feet.  It took a couple of attempts but I finally got it working.

After a few minutes I caught this monster.

It is a little snapper.  It is also the only fish caught by anyone rock fishing.  Now no other Anseth went because there was no WiFi on this rock.

On the way back my foot slipped and I blew out my flip flop.  I also cut my big toe 😢.  First I tried to use a hook to sew my flip flop back together with a horizontal mattress stitch through the sole.  I couldn’t straighten the hook so I walked barefoot across the rocks back to the trail.  Now the trail was the hard part all broken sticks and leaves. I knew this was gonna hurt.  Suddenly, I look to my left and there is a washed up shoe next to us.  It was a right shoe to boot. 😂. I shake out the shoe, no spiders, and slip it on.  I hop/ hobble up the trail.  Get in the car and head back to the sand of the beach.  There is a lesson here.  When God breaks a flip flop he will float you and old shoe to use.

Back at the resort it was a quick shower and dinner.

At dinner I enjoyed Captain Morgan’s Ghost

Walked home under the star6,  completely relaxed.
