Sea you in the North Atlantic

August 26th, 2019 was are first day of cruising and it was spent at sea.  I figured I could either start the day with 3 Moscow Mules or a massage.  I chose massage and spend 60 minutes having this little time lady named Tina assault me with a bamboo stick.  She is one tough and tiny lady.

I caught up with the crew for a little breakfast in the Cabana’s Buffet.  Grace hooked me up with some milk and CoCo Krispies as if I needed more carbs.

From there Grace and Marissa went to the Oceaneer Lab to make slim and play GAGA ball.  Which has nothing to do with Lady Gaga surprisingly enough.

Grandma Eva, Keith, Wendy and I tried our hand at Origami

Here are the results.  The butterflies are pretty legit.  Keith dominated the cube.  My flaps won’t stay down and I didn’t get a good puff on my cube to open it.  Overall these are probably all above 90th percentile give what I saw.

We stayed and played a little Disney trivia.  All I can say about that is SOME PEOPLE ARE REALLY, REALLY INTO DISNEY.   We had a good time

Here is a close up of my cube.  I will work on this.

After lunch at the buffet. Grandna Eva and the girls made some door hangers.

The creative process at work

Grinding it out to the bitter end.

Finished products against the North Atlantic.

After door hangers we enjoyed a comedy show.  The dude juggled and was we incredibly funny.  Grandma Eva laughed out loud.  Grace tried to get on stage as a flossing expert but some little dude from Manchester was faster.

After that Grace played a little B-ball but was frozen out by a 50 year old mom with a cross over and a son who couldn’t hit water if he fell off the boat.  Grace got 3rd in a free throw shooting contest.  Woody Harrelson was like you got to factor in the wind G-Money.

The crew played shuffle board after that while I went for a run.  I ran past a lady in a Fighting Sioux jacket. By the time I was able to get back around, Grandma Eva has them cornered and was asking them multiple questions.  Turns out he was a retired orthopedic surgeon from Minot, ND.  We spent some time breaking down orthopedics, my mom and The Homesteadeers.

After a shower it was formal night on the ship. Grandma Eva was very nervous that my formal 1/4 zip long sleeve shirt was going to be enough but I reassured her that I could pass for respectable.

Dinner was great with great food and good wine.  Some members of our party are not doing their fair share of wine consumption so I have picked up the slack.

Wendy and Grandma Eva

Keith, Marissa and Gracie

The whole family. Risky Buisness Anseth doesn’t have her sunglasses on so see is trying to conceal her identity to some degree.

This dude took our family photo and then took a selfie on my phone which has historically been one of my go to moves.  We honor him here.  Please take a moment of silence to honor his subversiveness.

Newmans after dinner

G-money and M.  M, I am so happy you are looking into the camera on this one.

After dinner some went to a movie (Gracie and Marissa) some went to the show (Grandma Eva, Keith and Wendy) and some went to bed (Scott) 😉.

Chocolates and a bunny???

Tomorrow is Alesund 11-11. Charge the phones cause Grandma Eva May be all hopped up on lefse, lutefisk and aquavite by tomorrow night.

Data is a premium on the boat so writing a blog on a cruise is 💰💰💰💰.  If I keep blogging this cruise or if I ever blog another cruise I may need to start a Kickstarter account.  #keepvacationsfun2019/2020

It was a great day at sea filled with laughter and fun.
