Let’s get back in the ocean.

Tuesday, 3/29/2022 started like most relaxing days in Aruba, waking up to gentle breezes and some not so gentle breezes, ☀️ and the beach.  Our family breakfast was almost interrupted when one of the local birds tried to drop a 💩 bomb on G-money.  Fortunately it was a miss so breakfast could continue peacefully.

The iguanas were enjoying the sun too.

Kari and I enjoyed a long walk up the beach.  We watched a few tourist attempt to learn kite boarding and wind surfing.  Some were quite successful and others were definitely in over their heads.

The view this AM was a little more congested.  Still plenty of sun to enjoy with a 🍺 and a 📕

At around 4 we gathered for our catamaran tour.  The entire Holy Family crew enjoyed a 3 hour a sunset cruise.  We snorkeled over the ship wreck. Lots of fish and I followed a green sea turtle 🐢.  Our second spot was closer to shore.  Not much to see from a snorkeling standpoint but the crew enjoyed the rope swing and the slide.

After the catamaran, we grabbed some appetizers at YOLO.

The kids and YOLO.

The best part of the day was breaking down food with JB and BS.  We talked about BBQ and Vietnamese spices.  Food can connect us to our past like Grandma’s apple pie or Pho.  It connected us to our community like Memphis dry rubbed BBQ.  For me it alway adds to the adventure of travel - eat local foods and hear local stories.  Another great day in the sun.  The sunburn level on this trip is currently below my expectations.
