Yarra River, no Yarra River

Wednesday, January 15th, 2025 was going to be our second day with Louise and our day to travel out of Melbourne to the Yarra Valley.  This seemed like the perfect day to get out of the city a little bit and the Yarra Valley is well recognized as one of Australia’s wine regions.

 

Today was gonna involve some wine tasting, how much was entirely determined by how much the Vikings loss was still haunting me.

I started the day with a morning walk. My goal was Luna, a croissant 🥐 shop which is apparently TikTok famous at least until January 19th. I arrived at my viral destination and was greeted with an established queue.

Inside Luna is right and efficient.  Step forward to the counter which has models or the available croissant choices, order croissants and coffee then go wait for them to call your name for your order.  It was like a breakfast version of Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi episode. Les’s yelling and more selfie sticks 

The reward in hand back to meet the girls and Louise, who scored a croissant as well.

After our breakfast it was a V8 power ride out the the Yarra Valley.  We had a little issue with the GPS but eventually we made it to our first stop.

We stopped at the Yarra Valley chocolate shop and creamery.  This machine is mixing various chocolate variations to add to your hot chocolate.
