On the runway in Tahiti
Entering the terminal. All smiles.
These guys greet you at 6 AM singing, dancing and playing the ekulele. Welcome to French Polynesia 🇵🇫.
We grabbed our bags and met at the appropriate location for transport to the ferry. We were now taking a bus to take a ferry so we could take another bus to our hotel. The schedule was tight we almost missed the ferry. If we would have, it would have meant 3 hours wandering around Pateete. I think this would have been bad for team morale.
At the airport, waiting for our bus. Our contact liked the low angle on family photos.
Little to low on this one chief. “Don’t cut of my head”
Our little terrorist enjoying a donut. Tahiti does not have a strong extradition policy.
Leaving the harbor
Moorea. We are coming and will be there soon
Katie and Gracie on the ferry
Moorea coming into view
Harbor in Moorea
This is the view from our bungalow.
We arrived at the Intercontinental Moorea and were immediately greeted by the Alligham family from Edina. The girls swim together for BP in the summer. After a quick discussion we checked in and they left for another island.
The afternoon was spent on the beach or by the pool relaxing. Some of us had a great time. Some of us got sunburned, Kari. Mostly you can get a sense of why time doesn’t seem to matter as much in the Pacific.
Ashley and Katie swimming to the raft
The dock at the hotel
Not a bad view for lunch
La possien cru Tahitian. Tahitian style raw tuna marinated in lime juice and coconut milk.
Katie on the deck as sunset starts
Tahiti, Yeah!!!!!!
Grace and Katie swimming at sunset
Sunset in the South Pacific.
Crazy how the light changes
After sunset it was dinner and bed. The crew was tired and a little sunburned. Kari was a lot sunburned.
Tomorrow the adventures starts.
