After breakfast we purchase rail tickets and headed out. Troy, Lara, Scott and Kari travelled to a wine shop in Thalwil. The shop is owned by a friend of Troy and Lara’s named Daniel. He is eminently entertaining and was ready with sparkling wine and treats.
Elle, Katie, Abby and Grace went to Kilchberg to visit/destroy the Lindt chocolate store. After, they were joined by Ashley and Sophie. Eventually they all made their way to a Starbucks in Thalwil.
After Starbucks for the minors, everyone ended up at the wine shop enjoying wine and these delicious little vanilla treats.

Spirits were high after crispy bacon
A little rain isn’t stopping this crew.
This crew rocked the wine shop with Daniel, the host with most.
Seriously dad this better not end up in the blog.
After the wine shop, we returned to the hotel to deposit our purchases. Some grabbed a quick nap and then it was back into the night to see Zürich.
First stop was the winter market at the train station. Candles to carved bowls to warm wine to cold beer the market was full of stuff and full of people. At one end was the beautiful Swarovski Christmas tree.
The family and the tree
One more time
Just the tree in all its glory.
From the winter market we headed to the museum across the street to the Landesmuseum which had an amazing light show. You could enjoy a little Baileys and Hot Chocolate or an ice cold beer. The light show was legit.
Outside Landesmuseum.
Inside the courtyard
So many lights
One more then I promise I will stop.
Grace and Abby tried to pull the plug on the light show.
From the Landesmuseum we walked down the Bahnhofstrasse under the lights of Lucy. The street is decorated every year for outdoor concerts and activities. You can also shop if you choose. This was truly an amazing walk.
Before we reached the street Katie got involved with a public fountain. We didn’t have to run from the cops which was nice.

We finished our walk and caught a bus to Seerose on Lake Zurich for dinner. We were joined by several of Sophie’s friends and a few of Troy and Lara’s

This picture does not do the food justice. Matchstick fries and Beef Tenderloin in a herb butter sauce. The spicy beef tartare did not last long enough to be photographed.
After dinner we enjoyed a glass or 2 of wine on the deck under a full moon with the lights of Zurich reflecting of the lake. Kerri (T&L friend) even manages to have the restaurant construct a bonfire for us.
The bonfire and the crew
16 year old girls. What are they planning?
The restaurant
Back down Lake Zurich looking at the city.
From the restaurant some went back to the hotel and some went clubbing in Zurich. The names are redacted to protect the innocent.
The angle in the Zurich HB is watching you.
Finally bed. Tomorrow we take the train to the ski resort
