Everyone was in the lobby of the Marriott and ready to go to the train station except for 1 person. Guesses......she is under 40, not in college, has played soccer and enjoys baggy sweatshirts. KATIE was up and then decided to go back to sleep. Why she went back to sleep is I don’t know but it may have to do with the fact she ate approximately 70 macarons. After an intense sugar buzz like that can you blame her for wanting to sleep???
Finally everyone was on the road pushing and carrying bags and wine. We arrived at Platform 9. Not quite Platform 9 3/4 like Grace had hoped for. We piled up the bags and everyone went for snacks except Lara and I, who were in charge of the bags.
The train pulled in and Lara and I quickly walked through the car to assess the seats and the bags situation. Then we sprang into action stacking the hard sides behind the chairs near the door. Soft side up above the chairs all the while leaving room for our backpacks. It was an amazing job of packing. Everyone else boarded the train in peace.
The train ride to Landeck was amazing. Especially as you leave Zurich along the lake.
The crew on the train
These are the cutest gang signs ever.
Along the train ride someone got very relaxed and began snoring or snorting depending on who you ask. Luckily the haters could not be identified.
No hater zone
Beautiful Swiss Valley
The views were amazing. I still can’t believe a place like this exists.
Almost to Landeck.
Now as we prepares to pull in, Troy got up and took all of the softside bags to the door. Lara and Kari organized the girls for Elle to lead out the far door. Now get ready for it. The train stops Kari and Lara jump out and we hand all the soft shells out like an 1820s Fire Bridge. Boom! then Troy starts tossing hard side bags out and in under 2 minutes. It was a thing of beauty. After that we had to negotiate crabby Germans to get to the taxi stand.
We loaded the bags in 2 taxis and took off. One taxi contained kids and house music. The other car contained adult and a monolithic Austrian driver who I could not get a word out of.
We finally arrived at our hotel and it is off the chain.
The tree in the lobby

This may be the best picture of Beer ever taken and this is how all the beer in Austria looks.
The afternoon was all business. Lift ticket, boot fittings, skis and poles. Everyone got what they needed and then we spent some time in the pool.
Before dinner, we play games in the library. Left-Right-Center and What do you Meme. Abby and I were pretty sure there was a conspiracy against us.
Game time
Dinner at Schloss is amazing and you will most likely get sick of the food picture but it is seriously unbelievable.
Top 5 table card of all time
Prepare yourself
Hamachi with pickles
Blueberry Buttermilk as a palette cleanser. Amazing.
The master of ceremonies. Holding it down in Austria and keeping the Vikes on point. Does that hat look familiar?
After dinner it was 5 min of the Calm app and bed. Tomorrow we ski in Austria. How cool is that?!.
