The crew in front of the resort sign
We didn't see much the last 40 minutes until we ran across a pack of elephants near an earthen dam.

Elephants at sunset part 2
Now, this was the calm before the storm. Up in the dam a young bull made a mock charge at one of the other guides and he stood up and yelled at the bull and he stopped and turned away. Down at the bottom we sat quietly watching, the problem was the real danger was crossing the road in front of us. A large denial elephant was crossing the road in front of us with her baby. When she realized we were there she got furious. She turned and started walking right at us. It was clear to me in the front seat, if she kept coming it was going to be with bad intentions. Cornell gave everyone the "Easy, relax, quite" and everyone went silent. He calmly backed up the rover and took us the long way around.
On the way home, I ask him if that was a tight spot and he made it very clear that if we did leave that spot in a timely fashion on her terms, that female elephant would make us regrets it. In all honesty, it was a little too dark and I was a little to nervous to get a picture.
Back at the lodge, it was time for Butterfish and beer. One more game drive to go.
Katie didn't make it through dinner
