Hansa Solo, Lion King and Poos big adventure

Our second full safari day started early again.  5 AM is early no matter where you are in the world.

We started at the local watering hole.  On the way there we passed a herd of Impala casually grazing in the bush.  At the watering hole were 3 lionesses getting a drink.  We watched them for quite sometime as they worked on catching brunch.  No Impala were harmed in the entertaining of the Butner and Anseth families.  It was very impressive to watch the lions stalk there prey.  The lighting was great so the pictures are pretty cool.
Lunch is served! Wait, I'm lunch!

Ashley, is it too hot yet?  Looks just right to me.

Then back to camp for brunch, a massage if you so desired and a swim.

Along the way we did find some Impala horns. Many of you may thin this is the natural evolution of our children but I assure you these are Impala horns, I think.

Our afternoon game drive start with a stop by the cheetah enclosure.  The lions in the park desimated the cheetah population.  Now the ecologist is reintroducing cheetah.  The 2 new males stay in the enclosure for 2 weeks to adapt and then they are released into the park.

We continue our leopard quest again we were shut out but we ran into a few other park residents along the way.

This guy was too tired to come.

The generator went out at the lodge around 4.  TB and I went on a humanitarian mission to ensure no cold beer was harmed. Hansa Pilsners and Castle Lagers were saved in large number both in the lodge and on the drive.

The drive in for the night.  I decided to bring my headlamp in case there was trouble.

Brown Hyena in the bush.  If you ask Grace or Abby they can tell you what his poop looks like and why it is white.

Sunset on another amazing day.

Diner was antelope and a bottle of Pinot.

We did play some family games.  Apparently in the bush, measuring how far you can spit things is a fun family game.  We drew a line in the sand and all attempted spitting Impala poop as far as we could.   Sam (our tracker) finished with the gold, Cornell (our ranger) finished with the silver and TB came in with the bronze.  I went home to practice.
