You are not to leave your cabin by yourself after dark unless you are escorted by an Angel (ranger with a big gun)
So after we are all tucked in Kari calls the room Katie and I are sharing with 3 problems.
1. Can't get the air conditioner to work. This is actually a big deal given how hot it is.
2. There is a huge spider that she tried in vein to kill which is now under the bed. Maybe a big deal but Ashley is sobbing and yelling that it will killer and Gracie won't unattached from her leg.
3. Apparently, Ashley was concerned that the little gecko in her room had acquired a tast for human flesh.
30 minutes and no one at the lodge will answer a call. Literally, 15 calls from the individuals in Kari room leads to this decision, "I am gonna have to go out there."
Now, I tell Katie this and her response is "Don't, you are going to die!!!!" It was almost filled by tears. So I put on my headlamp, shirt, shorts and running shoes and travel the dangerous 75 foot paved trail to Kari, Ashley and Gracie's room. I smash the spider with a shoe, reassure Ashley that geckos do not crazy the taste of human flesh and reset the braker. I run back to my own cabin where a surprised Katie greets me with a "You didn't die!" She has a little too much surprise in her voice. Everton finally went of to sleep and dreamed of leopards and sandstorms and killer gecko.
